Atwell College is proudly one of five Tier 1 Netball WA Endorsed Netball Schools in the state.

The program aims to engage students to pursue netball by developing the skills needed for the netball pathways as an Athlete, Coach, Umpire and Official. Students have the opportunity to excel in their chosen sport and encourages ongoing participation for young women.

THE PROGRAM OFFERS STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SUCCEED IN THE FOLLOWING:

• Netball Skill Development
• Athlete development (diet, nutrition, fitness, preparation & recovery)
• Sports nutrition
• Fitness testing and assessment
• Injury prevention (taping, sports medicine & rehabilitation)
• Game systems and strategies
• Coaching and Umpiring Development
• Community links (club & association)
• Inclusive Coaching

Atwell College employs Netball Program staff with Netball Australia accreditation's and varying high levels of experience in Elite Sport.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The program is offered to Year 7-10 students with four periods per week for theory and practical components.  Netball Training and opportunities continue in Year 11 / 12 as part of the Certificate II Courses in Sport and Recreation.  Students are selected based on their athletic ability, skill level, behaviour and grades (students must maintain a C grade average in all subjects).

If you are a current student in Year 7 to 10 and would like to trial for the Netball Program please fill out the Trial Request Form and return to Sharon Dawson in the Phys Ed office or via email: Sharon.Dawson2@education.wa.edu.au

This course has a compulsory charge associated with the program. Please refer to the Charges, Contributions & Personal Items List for your student's year group
